Frank M. Hynes Representative Frank M. Hynes was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1983 from the 4th Plymouth District, serving the towns of Scituate and Marshfield. Prior to his election he served as director of a community based human services agency for several years and then as a Guidance Counselor in the Silver Lake Regional School system for eight years. He received a Masters Degree in Counseling from St. Paul University, Ottawa and a Masters in Education from the University of Ottawa, Ontario, both in 1973. In 1981 he received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Counseling from Suffolk University. From 1984 to 1996 he served on three legislative committees: Natural Resources and Agriculture, Transportation, and Health Care. He is past Chairman of Special Commission on Nursing and the Special Commission to Study the Financing of the MBTA. In January of 1997 he was named Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Long Term Debt and Capital Expenditures. Hynes was honored "Legislator of the Year" by the Massachusetts Nurses Association and was twice named by the Massachusetts Municipal Association for the same honor. He is a former member of the Marshfield Advisory Board and he served on the Board of Selectmen from 1980 to1983. |
